The ICT Students’ Circle of the Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna, successfully organized HackTrail 2.0, an overnight hackathon, on the 21st and 22nd of August 2024. The event brought together 75 enthusiastic undergraduates, grouped into 15 teams, who competed to develop innovative solutions for the given problem statement.
This hackathon provided students with hands-on experience in system development, teamwork, and problem-solving under time constraints. The judging panel comprised lecturers from the Department of ICT as well as industry experts who are past graduates of the Faculty of Technology, adding both academic and professional perspectives to the evaluation process.
HackTrail 2.0 not only challenged the participants’ creativity and technical skills but also served as an inspiring platform for knowledge exchange and industry engagement, further strengthening the culture of innovation at the Faculty of Technology.
