01 November 2024, Kamburupitiya – The Faculty of Technology at the University of Ruhuna successfully hosted the Ruhuna International Conference on Innovation and Technology 2024 (RICIT 2024) under the theme "Advancing a Sustainable and Resilient Society Through Technological Innovations". The prestigious event featured Professor Xiaodong Yang from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as the keynote speaker. The conference was graced by the Chief Guest, Senior Professor Sujeewa Amarasena, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, and the Guest of Honor, Senior Professor EPS Chandana, Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

The conference was a significant gathering of renowned academics, researchers, industry experts, and students, including Professor Subash Jasyasinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Technology.
