The Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna successfully conducted “TECHNOSPIRITS 2025”, its second annual staff sports meet, on January 7, 2025. The event featured volleyball, netball, and badminton, aiming to promote staff unity, teamwork, stress management, and an enjoyable start to the new year.

This initiative was first introduced in the previous year with the concept and support of the Dean, Prof. Subash Jayasinghe. The 2025 event was organized under the leadership of Mrs. Renuka Abeywickrama, the Faculty’s Sports Instructor, and included both an opening and closing ceremony. The University’s Physical Education Unit and student sports team members played a vital role in event organization and judging, ensuring the smooth conduct of the competitions.

All academic, non-academic, and academic-supportive staff participated, competing in four teams: Fury, Orbit, Tackler, and Rally—team names starting with "FOTR" to represent the Faculty of Technology, Ruhuna.

TECHNOSPIRITS 2025 was a resounding success, fostering camaraderie, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm among the faculty staff while strengthening the spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
